in the oceanwrath verse when SHIT GOES DOWN in kharta, bariyan shoos catsovi out of there BUT catsovi then camps out in the desert nearby with a whole lot of other refugees and waits for bariyan to emerge out of the mess. in the meanwhile he watches everyone else trickle out and move on to seek further asylum, and in a week or so there’s basically no one left. the last few people are all like “dude get out it’s a fucking mess back there no one’s alive they’re all gone” and catsovi just howls NO!!!!! at them and waits

HE WAITS FOR TWO MONTHS LIKE A HUGE LOSER

bariyan never shows up, cat finally has to leave, but damn if he doesn’t keep holding out hope for years afterwards anyway

AND THEN IT TURNS OUT HE WAS RIGHT BARIYAN ACTUALLY AINT DEAD AT ALL but he doesn’t find that out until y’know like 800 years later

Ooh maaan what really nice colors! GOOD SKINTONES, GOOD SHADOW COLORS ON HIS SHIRT, GOOD LINEART COLORS AAH <3. The red on Bariyan's scarf was an especially good choice -- not-so-eye-searing and looking just a tiny bit worn out to compliment that scraggly edge oh nooo. *~* AND CRIES THIS STORY IS SO SO SAD just puts head in hands ;;;;. Is Cat blind at this point too? Or is that a different arc, hmmm.
